Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 is a role-playing video game developed by Atlus, and chronologically the fourth installment in the Persona series, a subseries of the Megami Tensei franchise. Persona 3 was originally published in 2006 on the PlayStation 2 by Atlus in Japan; the North American release of the game was delayed due to issues with the publication of the official art book. An add-on disc entitled Persona 3 FES, containing a "director's cut" of the original game, as well as a new epilogue, was released alongside Persona 3 in Japan in 2007, and in 2008 in other territories, with a re-release of FES on the PlayStation Network in 2012.
In Persona 3, the player takes the role of a male high-school student who joins the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (SEES), a group of students investigating the Dark Hour, a time period between one day and the next that few people are aware of. During the Dark Hour, the player enters Tartarus, a large tower containing Shadows, creatures that feed on the minds of humans. To fight the Shadows, each member of SEES is able to summon a Persona, a manifestation of a person's inner self. The game's most iconic feature is the method by which the members of SEES release their Personas: by firing a gun-like object called an Evoker at their head. In addition to the standard elements of role-playing games, Persona 3 includes elements of simulation games, as the game's protagonist progresses day by day through a school year, making friends and forming relationships that improve the strength of his Personas in battle.

During Free Time, players can either hang out with the other students to unlock skills, just like in the main game, or use Trip Tickets earned from completed concepts to take them on trips. The Vita version also features high resolution graphics and optional touchscreen controls.

Bravely Default, known as Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies is a role-playing video game by Square Enix for the Nintendo 3DS, a spiritual successor to the 2010 video game Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light and was released between 2012-2014 for the Nitendo 3DS.

Even though the game has been called a spiritual successor to Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, Bravely Default was designed as a new IP heavily inspired by both the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest franchises. Its title stemmed from its two core battle options.
The game was originally designed as an action RPG, but later in the development, the development team switched to a traditional RPG formula The game's developers also decided to cater for the core Japanese RPG fanbase, as they did not believe the game viable for Western release at the time.During the latest stages of the game's development, the team had to make several last-minute tweaks and changes to ensure the game delivered the best possible performance.
In August's issue of Jump, Square Enix announced an improved version of the original game titled Bravely Default: For the Sequel: improvements included the ability to alter difficulty settings, extra save slots, modified gameplay, dual English and Japanese audio and revisions to the later chapters In addition to that, though no original content was cut from the game, the estimated completion time was shortened from fifty to thirty hours. The For the Sequel version also included micro-transactions, whereby players could pay for the ability to stop time in battles for limited periods. This ability can also be obtained for free by putting the game in sleep mode In September 2013, Square Enix confirmed that the version to be released in North America and Europe would be based on For the Sequel
